Champagne Blanc de Blancs - Vintage 2014
Current vintage: 2014
Future vintage: 2016
Fresh, Elegant, Mineral
Our Champagne Blanc de Blancs is an exceptional cuvée, made exclusively from Chardonnay from our parcels located on the upper slopes of Brasles, a privileged terroir with a southern exposure. These unique conditions enable our vines to receive maximum exposure to the sun, favoring optimal ripening of the grapes. This particular location gives our Blanc de Blancs a round, fruity and generous character, quite different from other Blanc de Blancs, which are often drier and tighter. In 2014, the climate enabled a regular and abundant harvest of perfectly ripe grapes, giving birth to a balanced and harmonious cuvée.
The 2014 and 2016 Harvests: Contrasting Vintages
-
2014 harvest: In 2014, the climate was ideal, with a mild spring and conditions conducive to good grape ripening. The harvest took place in very good conditions, with generous yields and excellent grape quality. This vintage stands out for its freshness and fruity aromas, in particular notes ofacacia and white peach, with a liveliness marked by a lovely creamy suppleness on the palate.
-
2016 harvest: The 2016 vintage was more complex, marked by spring frosts and exceptional mildew pressure. The harvest was smaller, but the remaining grapes gained in concentration and complexity. This cuvée will be more mineral and precise, with finer aromas and beautiful tension on the palate.
