HVE certification - Our tillage

The brush works as close as possible to the vine, without ever damaging it, to remove weeds.

We are delighted to announce that Champagne Philippe dechelle has obtained "High Environmental Value" (HVE) certification. This recognition testifies to our unwavering commitment to preserving the environment and promoting biodiversity in our vineyards.
We implement sustainable agricultural practices to preserve the environment and encourage biodiversity in our vineyards. With this in mind, we use inter-weeder tools in our tillage.
Inter-weeder tools, pictured here, are specially designed for mechanical weeding of vine inter-rows. They are attached to "enjambeurs", agricultural machines which enable the soil between the rows of vines to be worked without damaging it.
The intercep tool works by eliminating weeds using various mechanical techniques, such as rotating brushes or blades. This reduces the need to use chemical herbicides to control weeds, preserving the health of our vines and the environment.
By using intercep tools, we also promote soil aeration, improving soil structure and the circulation of air, water and nutrients around the vine roots. This contributes to the healthy, balanced development of our vines, while reducing soil compaction.
High environmental value" certification testifies to our commitment to producing exceptional champagnes while preserving the environment and promoting biodiversity. By choosing our champagnes, you are supporting responsible viticulture that respects the environment.
